Job Overview: The Community Engagement Worker position is a full-time role based in Doomadgee, Queensland, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Duties and Responsibilities: The Community Engagement Worker will have a variety of duties and responsibilities, including:
Building rapport with community members to empower them to express their voices and needs.
Coordinating and supporting the delivery of activities aimed at grannies, young people, and families.
Communicating emerging issues within the community that may impact safety, well-being, and participation.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of available supports both internally and within the wider community.
Collaborating effectively within a team and participating in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Engaging with families from diverse backgrounds, particularly those from CALD and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Understanding and leveraging local culture to foster engagement with families and children from birth through adolescence.
