The role requires active engagement in various projects that aim to develop strategies for protecting HRDs, responding to urgent situations, and building public support for civic space. Interns will gain valuable experience in human rights advocacy and policy development, contributing to the OHCHR's mission of promoting and protecting human rights worldwide.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be expected to assist in mapping out protection practices for HRDs, support pilot country projects, and promote regional and national protection hubs. They will also engage in monitoring civic space and the situation of HRDs, developing frameworks to track trends and collect data. Interns will help elevate civic space issues within the UN system by mapping policies and practices, addressing reprisals, and supporting UN leadership. Additionally, they will work on initiatives to raise public awareness about the role of HRDs and create pathways for business actors to support them. Required Qualifications:

Educational Background:
