Job Overview: The Cash and Market Systems Officer position at NRC Cameroon is pivotal in enhancing the organization's cash and voucher assistance programs. The officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with NRC policies and guidelines while promoting innovative solutions to improve the delivery of cash and market-based assistance.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Cash and Market Systems Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: ensuring adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines; supporting the implementation of cash and market-based projects in collaboration with colleagues and partners; preparing and developing status reports as required; ensuring proper documentation and filing of project-related documents; targeting beneficiaries most in need and exploring new ways to assist; representing NRC in regional Cash Working Group meetings; contributing to the development and contextualization of cash and market-based action plans; coordinating with various departments to ensure effective project delivery; developing post-distribution monitoring tools; supporting project-level reconciliation of cash deliverables; drafting reports and technical notes; providing training and technical support to local partners; and ensuring that principles of protection, accountability, and inclusion are respected in all interventions.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Cash and Market Systems Officer position must possess a university degree in a related field. They should have demonstrated experience of at least 2-3 years in cash and market-based programming within humanitarian or recovery contexts. Previous experience in complex and volatile environments is essential. Fluency in both English and French is required, as effective communication is critical in this role. Additionally, knowledge of the RedRose system and familiarity with mobile money, e-vouchers, and digital payment systems will be considered an asset. Experience working with local implementing partners and a solid understanding of crisis contexts are also important qualifications for this position.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field, which may encompass areas such as international development, humanitarian assistance, economics, or social sciences.
