Job Overview:
The WFP Egypt Country Office is looking for experienced online volunteers to serve as English language tutors for its staff. The primary goal of this position is to enhance the English language proficiency of WFP employees, focusing on practical skills in speaking, listening, and writing. Volunteers will be assigned to specific groups based on their proficiency levels—beginner, intermediate, and upper-intermediate—after conducting a pre-assessment. This role is crucial for improving communication and collaboration among staff, enabling them to represent WFP's work more effectively. Volunteers will design and deliver customized learning experiences tailored to the needs of their assigned group, with the aim of achieving at least a 30% improvement in language proficiency by the end of the assignment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial assessments to evaluate the English proficiency of assigned participants and inform course design.
  • Develop or adapt learning materials that cater to the specific needs of the group, focusing on practical language use in workplace contexts.
  • Facilitate two interactive online classes per week, ensuring they are engaging and aligned with learning objectives.
  • Incorporate various interactive learning activities such as group discussions, role plays, and case studies to enhance engagement.
  • Provide practical assignments for participants to complete between sessions and offer constructive feedback.
  • Administer a post-assessment to measure progress and provide detailed feedback to participants.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong English language skills, with a focus on teaching or tutoring experience. Familiarity with online teaching platforms and tools is essential. Volunteers should demonstrate excellent communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to engage learners effectively. A background in education, linguistics, or a related field is preferred, along with a passion for helping others improve their language skills.

Educational Background:
