Job Overview:

• The Human Rights Associate will assist in various tasks, including conducting research, organizing meetings, and developing materials that facilitate the integration of human rights into sustainable development policies. The position also entails working on policy reforms related to the international financial architecture and supporting country-level initiatives that promote a human rights economy. The Human Rights Associate will engage with UN country teams to ensure that human rights considerations are embedded in national development plans and programs. This role requires a proactive approach to addressing structural gaps in international financial governance and advocating for policies that reduce inequality and enhance resources for human rights.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Human Rights Associate will undertake a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting in the acceleration of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; conducting research and analysis to support the Section's initiatives; organizing meetings and workshops to facilitate discussions on human rights and sustainable development; developing materials and reports that outline the integration of human rights into UN development system country analysis; supporting the review of gender equality measures within UN programming; assisting with the Section's work on policy reform related to international financial architecture; and performing other related duties as required by the Chief of Section. The role demands a collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively in teams, as well as strong communication and organizational skills.

The role is a volunteer position with the United Nations, and as such, it does not offer a traditional salary but provides allowances to support a secure standard of living. The monthly living allowance is approximately USD 3002.91, along with a one-time entry lump sum of USD 3500 and an exit allowance of USD 225 for each month served.
