Job Overview: The Rehabilitation Project Manager will report directly to the Area Manager and play a crucial role in implementing the mandate and 10-year strategy of Humanity & Inclusion in Sudan. This position is responsible for overseeing the project implementation, ensuring optimal quality and impact through effective management and delegation. The Rehabilitation Project Manager will work collaboratively with other managers within the organization to ensure sound management practices and effective functioning of the overall operations. The role involves addressing the needs of individuals with disabilities and injured persons by developing locally made, robust, and low-cost assistive devices, thereby strengthening local capacities for production and maintenance. The project manager will also contribute to fundraising efforts and explore potential new projects while supporting the local team.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Rehabilitation Project Manager will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including conducting an initial assessment of local capacities and available resources, designing and delivering hands-on training sessions for local artisans and technicians in fabrication techniques, and introducing quality, safety, and ergonomic standards for assistive devices. The manager will co-design and adapt prototypes to fit the local context, provide on-the-job technical support and mentoring, and establish basic quality control procedures. Additionally, the project manager will be responsible for training local staff, ensuring the functional local production of assistive devices, and producing practical guides and technical sheets to improve the quality and durability of the devices produced. The manager will also oversee the project budget and staff, ensuring effective management of resources and compliance with donor requirements.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a relevant degree in the field of physical rehabilitation, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the field and at least 2 years of experience in capacity building and technical supervision. Proven experience in early rehabilitation projects or rehabilitation projects linked to emergencies and chronic crises is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong training and local capacity-building skills, as well as the ability to adapt to rapidly changing contexts and plan accordingly. A willingness to travel frequently and work in remote, insecure areas is also required.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in physical rehabilitation or a related field is mandatory for this position. Candidates should have a solid educational foundation that equips them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage rehabilitation projects and train local staff in the production of assistive devices.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in physical rehabilitation, with at least 2 years specifically focused on capacity building and technical supervision. Experience in managing rehabilitation projects in emergency or chronic crisis contexts is highly desirable, as is a proven track record in training and developing local capacities.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with international partners. Knowledge of Arabic would be considered an asset, as it would facilitate communication with local staff and communities.

The contract includes social coverage adapted to the context of the mission, including unemployment insurance benefits for EU nationals, a pension scheme, and medical coverage with a 50% employee contribution. The salary for this position starts at €2346 gross per month, depending on experience, with additional benefits such as a per diem of €706 net per month while in the field, a hardship allowance of €500 net per month, and 25 days of paid leave per year. The position is unaccompanied, and housing will be provided collectively by Humanity & Inclusion.
