Job Overview: The Finance and Administrative Assistant position is crucial for supporting the administrative and financial operations of a project aimed at assisting returning migrant workers in Cambodia. Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance and Administrative Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: serving as the focal point for coordinating joint activities and administrative support; providing general office assistance and guidance on administrative procedures; preparing budgets and coordinating travel arrangements; reviewing and verifying financial data for accuracy; preparing background information and working papers for meetings; maintaining up-to-date directories of relevant contacts; processing payment claims and invoices; managing petty cash accounts; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor. The role also involves liaising with various organizational units and external partners to facilitate the smooth execution of project activities and ensure compliance with ILO regulations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed secondary school education and possess at least five years of relevant work experience. Experience in a similar role within the United Nations Common System or an international organization is desirable. Proficiency in standard office software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required. Candidates should also have experience handling confidential matters with discretion and possess supervisory experience, which would be considered an asset. Knowledge of the ILO's operations and relevant project areas is ideal.
Educational Background: The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary school education. Additional qualifications or certifications in finance, administration, or related fields may be advantageous but are not mandatory.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant work experience, particularly in administrative and financial roles. Experience working with international organizations or within the United Nations system is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate practical experience with office software and information management systems, as well as the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
Languages: Excellent knowledge of Khmer is mandatory, along with very good knowledge of English. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required for this position.
Additional Notes: This is a fixed-term contract position for a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability and performance.
