• Interns are expected to work part-time, dedicating 18-20 hours per week to support ongoing projects and research focused on Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Zambia. This role provides an opportunity to engage in meaningful work that contributes to the understanding and advocacy of human rights issues in these countries. Interns will be involved in various tasks that enhance their research skills and provide exposure to the workings of an international organization dedicated to human rights.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for conducting desk research, which includes small research assignments that contribute to the overall understanding of human rights issues in Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Zambia. They will monitor media outlets and compile reports on relevant news, ensuring that the organization stays informed about current events in these regions. Additionally, the intern will conduct data analysis to identify and understand key issues affecting human rights in the targeted countries. Drafting documents related to these issues will also be a significant part of the role. The intern will attend and assist in planning substantive meetings, providing logistical support and contributing to discussions. Other projects may be assigned based on the intern's interests and abilities, allowing for a tailored experience that aligns with their career goals. Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program throughout the duration of the internship. Proficiency in reading and writing in English is essential, as the intern will be required to draft documents and reports. A strong interest in human rights, particularly concerning Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Zambia, is crucial for success in this role. Relevant coursework in human rights, international relations, or related fields is highly desirable. • Interns will receive a gross monthly stipend of R 6,000, which will be pro-rated based on the number of hours worked, to help offset living expenses.
