Job Overview:
The Education Officer plays a crucial role in providing professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for education programs/projects. This position requires the application of theoretical and technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing, and presenting technical program information. The Education Officer will learn organizational rules, regulations, and procedures to support the development and formulation of the Education Programme within the Country Programme. The role involves supporting program development and planning, managing and monitoring program delivery, providing technical and operational support for program implementation, and building networks and partnerships. The Education Officer is expected to contribute to innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the organization, ensuring that the educational needs of children are met effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Education Officer's duties include supporting the development and planning of education programs, managing and monitoring program implementation to ensure results are achieved, providing technical and operational support for program execution, and fostering networking and partnership building. The officer will also be responsible for innovation in educational practices, knowledge management, and capacity building initiatives. This includes collecting and analyzing data to inform program strategies, collaborating with stakeholders to enhance educational outcomes, and ensuring that programs are aligned with UNICEF's mission and objectives. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in the field of education.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a university degree (bachelor's) in education, psychology, sociology, or another relevant technical field. A minimum of one year of professional experience in program planning, management, and/or research in education is required. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to UNICEF's core values and competencies, including the ability to build and maintain partnerships, drive results for impact, and manage complexity and ambiguity in educational settings. Relevant experience in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts is desirable, along with knowledge of a local language as an asset.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as education, psychology, sociology, or a related technical area. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of educational programming and the needs of children in various contexts.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of professional experience in program planning, management, and/or research specifically related to education. This experience should ideally include work in development or humanitarian contexts, demonstrating the ability to adapt educational strategies to meet the needs of diverse populations.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of a local language is considered an asset, as it can enhance communication and engagement with local communities and stakeholders.
