Rescue Mission for Street Life is a child protection organization based in Uganda, East Africa. Established with the mission to work with children in fragile settings such as slums, streets, and refugee environments, the organization aims to rescue, rehabilitate, and transition these vulnerable children into safe environments, health care, family structures, education, and sustainable livelihoods. Over the years, Rescue Mission for Street Life has successfully supported around 1500 children, employing a play-based and caregiver-engaging model to facilitate their recovery and reintegration into society.

Job Overview:
The position of Online Volunteer involves designing a structured Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) dashboard specifically for a child trauma recovery program in Uganda. The volunteer will work closely with the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Executive Director to enhance the organization's capacity to measure and communicate child well-being outcomes effectively. This role is crucial as it directly supports sustainable human development by improving the organization's ability to track and report on various program outcomes across five key domains: emotional well-being, safety, education, family stability, and livelihood readiness. The volunteer's contributions will help strengthen internal data visualization and monitoring systems, which are essential for evidence-based decision-making and aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3, 4, and 16.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteer will undertake several key responsibilities, including:
  • Reviewing existing outcome indicators related to emotional well-being, safety, education, family stability, and livelihood readiness.
  • Proposing a clear framework for the dashboard that aligns with the identified domains.
  • Developing a functional dashboard template using Google Sheets or Excel that incorporates data visualization features such as summary tables and charts.
  • Preparing a concise user guide (3-5 pages) that explains how to input, manage, and interpret the data within the dashboard. The final deliverables will include one complete dashboard template and the accompanying user guide. All collaboration and communication will occur online, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for the volunteer.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess strong analytical skills and experience in monitoring and evaluation, particularly in the context of child protection or social work. Proficiency in data visualization tools and software, especially Google Sheets or Excel, is essential. The volunteer should also have a good understanding of child well-being indicators and the ability to translate complex data into user-friendly formats. Strong communication skills are necessary to prepare the user guide effectively, ensuring that it is accessible to all stakeholders involved in the program.

Educational Background:
Candidates should ideally have a background in social sciences, child development, public health, or a related field. A degree or relevant coursework in monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, or child protection will be advantageous. Additionally, any certifications or training in data visualization or dashboard design will be considered a plus.

Experience:
While specific years of experience may not be mandated, candidates should demonstrate familiarity with monitoring and evaluation practices, particularly in child-focused programs. Previous experience working with non-profit organizations or in child protection settings will be highly regarded. Languages:
