Job Overview:
The Grants and Partnerships Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the EC Youth Programme within the Consortium Management Unit (CMU) in Sudan. This position is designed to enhance the protection, inclusion, and socio-economic opportunities for conflict-affected youth. The coordinator will be responsible for ensuring effective program implementation, maintaining donor compliance, and fostering strong partnerships with consortium partners and stakeholders. Reporting to the Chief of Party for the EC Youth Project, the coordinator will work closely with various teams to ensure the successful delivery of consortium objectives, focusing on high-quality reporting and adherence to donor guidelines. The role requires a proactive approach to managing grants and partnerships, ensuring that all activities align with the strategic goals of the program and the needs of the youth it serves.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grants and Partnerships Coordinator will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Supporting the administration and compliance of the program and partners in accordance with donor guidelines and internal DRC procedures.
  • Coordinating with consortium partners to develop and deliver timely, high-quality donor reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with contractual requirements.
  • Maintaining and updating the grants tracking system and reporting trackers to reflect program timelines, deliverables, financial compliance, and narrative reporting needs.
  • Leading the preparation, consolidation, and submission of financial and narrative reports to the donor.
  • Facilitating documentation for donor meetings, program reviews, and audits as required.
  • Building team capacity on grants and project cycle management principles across teams, including program and operation staff as well as partner organizations.
  • Supporting knowledge management by maintaining organized systems for core program and partnership documentation.
  • Coordinating consortium partners to ensure collaborative planning and delivery of EC Youth Programme activities.
  • Supporting the Chief of Party in communication with donors and participating in governance processes. 1
  • Facilitating partner participation in design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and monitoring partner performance against milestones. 1
  • Reviewing partner inputs to proposals and reports, ensuring quality and compliance. 1
  • Managing Sub-Grant Agreements and contributing to partner capacity-strengthening initiatives. 1
  • Maintaining strong relationships with consortium and local partners to support effective collaboration and program delivery.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in International Development, International Relations, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field. A minimum of three years of professional experience in grants management and donor compliance is required, along with at least three years of experience working with NGOs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential, as well as excellent communication and coordination skills, both written and oral. Candidates should demonstrate advanced grant management and reporting skills, experience with compliance regulations from international institutions/donors (especially the EU Commission), and a background in equitable partnership approaches and capacity strengthening. Proven management and supervision skills, along with a commitment to accountability practices, are also necessary.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as International Development, International Relations, Social Sciences, or Public Administration. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of grants management and the socio-economic challenges faced by conflict-affected youth.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in grants management and donor compliance, as well as at least three years of experience working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Candidates should have a proven track record of managing grants and ensuring compliance with donor regulations, particularly in the context of international development and humanitarian assistance.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as all applications and communications will be conducted in English. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an added advantage, as it may facilitate better communication with local partners and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The position is offered on a twelve-month contract with the possibility of extension, subject to funding and performance evaluations. The salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for International staff. This position is graded at NM.G, and the duty station is Port Sudan.
