Job Overview:

The intern will work under the direct supervision of the UN RCO Communications and Advocacy Officer, assisting in the execution of digital and social media communications. The role is intended to provide the intern with practical experience in the field of communications within the context of the United Nations, while also contributing to the office's objectives. The internship is full-time, requiring the intern to work five days a week, and is expected to last for a duration of up to six months. Although the position is unpaid, it offers valuable exposure to the workings of the UN and the opportunity to engage with various stakeholders in the development sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a range of duties related to digital communications and advocacy, including but not limited to: assisting in the development and implementation of digital communication strategies; creating and curating content for social media platforms; supporting the design and production of communication materials; conducting research on relevant topics to inform communication efforts; collaborating with other team members to ensure cohesive messaging; and participating in meetings and events as needed. The intern will also have the opportunity to learn about the UN's operations in Mongolia and gain insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by the organization in the country.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet several criteria: they should be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level). Additionally, candidates must possess digital communications skills and be proficient in graphic design software and social media platforms. Familiarity with sustainable development concepts is considered an asset, as is previous experience in organizing events, missions, seminars, or conferences. A demonstrated interest in the work of the United Nations and a commitment to its ideals are essential, along with the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a strong educational background, either having completed or being enrolled in a graduate program or the final year of an undergraduate program.
