Job Overview:
The Analysis Intern position is a full-time internship based in Geneva, Switzerland, within the Collection, Analysis and Sharing Section (CASS) of the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM). The intern will work under the supervision of a Legal Officer, Investigator, or Analyst, gaining hands-on experience in the investigation of Sexual and Gender-based Crimes (SGBC) and Crimes Against and Affecting Children (CAAC). The intern will be involved in various research and analytical tasks, contributing to the preparation of reports and documentation that are crucial for the IIMM's work. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with complex legal and humanitarian issues, particularly those affecting vulnerable populations in Myanmar. The intern will also have the chance to collaborate with experienced professionals in the field, enhancing their understanding of international law and human rights.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's duties will include conducting thorough research on SGBC and CAAC, reviewing relevant documentation, and preparing analytical reports on these issues. They will contribute to the drafting of briefing papers, incident reports, and investigation plans, as well as public information materials. The intern will assist in compiling and reviewing evidence and documentation related to SGBC and CAAC, ensuring that all information is accurate and relevant. Additionally, the intern will be responsible for proofreading, summarizing, translating documents when necessary, and drafting records of meetings. It is important to note that the intern may encounter sensitive materials that include violent imagery and distressing subject matters, requiring a level of emotional resilience and professionalism.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: they should be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or they should be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Furthermore, applicants must have completed their university degree no more than one year before the application date. While professional work experience is not required for this internship, candidates should have undertaken studies in law, international relations, political science, gender studies, or related fields. It is also desirable for applicants to have training or prior experience in research or analysis related to SGBC, CAAC, and gender issues.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes enrollment in a university program that focuses on law, international relations, political science, gender studies, or a related area. Candidates must either be in their final year of a bachelor's degree or have completed a graduate degree.
