Job Overview: The Conformity and Risk Management Manager is responsible for leading the conformity department within SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with internal policies, donor regulations, and best practices. The manager will oversee external and internal audits, conduct investigations into ethical violations, manage mission archiving, and support internal procedures that align with donor requirements. The position requires a proactive approach to risk management and compliance, ensuring that all projects adhere to established guidelines. The manager will also provide training on SI's Ethical Framework and serve as the main liaison with the Headquarters’ Audit Department regarding audits and archiving matters. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Conformity and Risk Management Manager include planning and maintaining a risk-based internal audit plan, conducting project internal financial audits, discussing key findings with field coordinators, preparing reports with mitigation measures, and supporting the implementation of action plans. The manager will also carry out due diligence on partners, lead external audits, coordinate pre-audit documentation, and ensure compliance with donor regulations. Additionally, the manager will supervise the archiving process, guide the archivist, develop archiving tools, and ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate. The role also involves disseminating good practices, raising awareness about policies and procedures, and leading investigations into fraud or abuse cases. The manager will play a key role in minimizing risks of corruption and ensuring transparency within the organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Preferred qualifications include certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), CPA, or CMA. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in compliance, risk management, and internal auditing, with a focus on the humanitarian sector. Knowledge of donor guidelines, particularly from organizations like ECHO, OCHA, and USAID, is essential. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software are also required. Experience in supervising and mentoring a team is necessary, as the role involves leading a department and ensuring effective training and capacity building.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required for this position. Additional certifications such as CIA, CFE, CPA, or CMA are preferred and will enhance a candidate's qualifications. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in financial principles, compliance regulations, and risk management practices, which are critical for the role.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in external audit, internal audit, or investigations, with at least 2 years in a similar role. Experience in internal control testing, risk identification, and root cause analysis is essential. Familiarity with the humanitarian or NGO sector is advantageous, as is knowledge of donor guidelines. The candidate should also have experience in supervising and training teams, demonstrating leadership capabilities in a complex operational environment.
Languages: Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position.
