Job Overview: The Senior Protection Associate position is crucial for managing complex protection cases within the Azraq Camp, which hosts a significant number of refugees, particularly women and girls. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Protection Associate include staying informed about political, social, economic, and cultural developments that impact the protection environment. The incumbent will apply international and national law, provide advice on protection issues, assist in eligibility and status determination for PoC, and contribute to measures aimed at preventing statelessness. The role also involves managing individual protection cases, monitoring compliance with protection policies, and assisting in identifying durable solutions for PoC. The Senior Protection Associate will facilitate effective information management, participate in capacity-building initiatives for local authorities and NGOs, and support the supervisor in prioritizing reception and counseling for individuals and groups. Additionally, the incumbent will recommend and prepare payments for individual cases and ensure that risks are identified and managed effectively.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma, or 2 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or higher. Essential qualifications include knowledge of international law, political science, or a related field. Candidates should possess functional skills in computer literacy, protection-related guidelines, and refugee protection principles. Experience in camp-based protection operations is essential, and familiarity with Jordanian authorities and advocacy skills are considered assets.
