Job Overview:
As an IT Business Partner at the Danish Refugee Council, you will play a crucial role in driving local digital transformation and enhancing operational efficiency across 8-10 countries. Your primary responsibility will be to implement global strategic objectives for IT and digitalization, ensuring that business strategies align with IT investments. You will act as a liaison between senior management teams and IT stakeholders, facilitating process improvements and ensuring that digital enablers effectively support DRC's mission. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage with various stakeholders to translate business challenges into viable IT solutions. You will also be responsible for providing day-to-day IT services and support to country operations, adhering to agreed service targets and the global IT process framework.

Duties and Responsibilities:
In your role as IT Business Partner, you will be tasked with several key responsibilities:
  • Business Partnering: Liaise with Senior Management Teams in various countries to ensure alignment of IT and digital investments.
  • Plan and implement IT global infrastructure standards, including laptops, firewalls, networks, and hosting solutions across assigned countries.
  • Propose IT solutions aimed at automating and streamlining daily processes and operations.
  • Facilitate country-level cost recovery for global solutions such as Microsoft O365, Dynamics, and Heimdal.
  • Represent the country perspective in the global IT management team, contributing to the development of global IT policies and standards.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to ensure compliance with DRC IT policies and strategies.
  • Technical Supervision: Support managers and IT staff through regular communication and capacity building.
  • Assess the IT skills and performance of senior IT staff in country offices.
  • Address issues of non-compliance or poor performance as authorized. 1
  • Participate in the recruitment of IT staff in country offices.

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position is essential.
  • Strong communication, planning, and stakeholder engagement competencies are necessary.
  • Experience working in a global IT organization is required.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing new technology in challenging environments is crucial.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and knowledge in the relevant fields.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a solid understanding of IT business partnering and digital transformation. Experience in a global IT organization is highly valued, as is a proven track record of successfully implementing new technologies in environments where both core infrastructure and digital literacy present challenges.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all applications and communications will be conducted in this language. Additional language skills, particularly in French or other relevant languages, would be considered an asset and beneficial for engaging with diverse stakeholders across different countries.

This position offers a contract length of 24 months, with a work location in Dakar, Senegal. The expected start date is 1 April 202
