Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst, SRHR position is based in the UNFPA field office in Taunggyi, Myanmar, and reports to the Assistant Representative, with a matrix reporting line to the Head of Field Office. This role is pivotal in providing technical, operational, and coordination support for UNFPA’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) portfolio in southern Shan State. The Programme Analyst will facilitate collaboration among UN agencies, NGOs, and ethnic health organizations to ensure integrated SRHR support at both state and township levels. The position is integral to the implementation of UNFPA’s Fourth Country Programme Document (2018-2022), which has been extended to 2026 and focuses on sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, and population dynamics. The Programme Analyst will analyze political and socio-economic trends to ensure that project designs and evaluations align with national development frameworks, driving programme excellence through monitoring results and overseeing implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Analyst, SRHR will be responsible for a variety of functions aimed at achieving key results. These include collaborating with partners to contribute substantively to the formulation and design of the country programme and its component projects, ensuring that they align with national and local priorities and adhere to UNFPA policies and procedures. The Analyst will ensure the quality of programme/project design by incorporating lessons learned and best practices while establishing appropriate execution and monitoring mechanisms. Additionally, the Analyst will analyze and interpret the political, social, and economic environment relevant to population and development, identifying opportunities for UNFPA assistance. The role involves keeping abreast of new policy developments, coordinating project implementation, establishing collaborative relationships with executing agencies, and facilitating timely delivery of project inputs. The Analyst will also assist in advocacy and resource mobilization efforts, provide technical advice and capacity development in SRHR, and represent UNFPA in local health-related platforms.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in health, medical studies, population, demography, or a related social science field. A minimum of two years of professional experience in SRHR activities, preferably in programme or project management, is required. Proven working experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights is essential, along with state-of-the-art knowledge of family planning and contraceptive technologies, including maternal health. Familiarity with conflict sensitivity and a 'do no harm' approach is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex political, social, and economic environments.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced degree in health, medical studies, population, demography, or other related social science fields. Experience:

Languages:
