With field offices in over 80 countries, the UNV program is globally represented, working with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated, and well-supported UN Volunteers into development programs.
Job Overview: The position involves supporting the UNV's special publication project in Bolivia, which aims to compile stories, images, documents, key milestones, institutional advancements, and evidence of the impact of UN Volunteers in the country. The selected online volunteers will conduct document reviews and analyses of existing reports, files, publications, and other relevant materials specific to Bolivia and the broader Latin American context. This information will be crucial for the editorial and communications team responsible for the final publication.
Duties and Responsibilities: The online volunteers will be tasked with reviewing reports, publications, institutional documents, and archives related to UN Volunteers. They will identify references to UN Volunteers in Bolivia, including dates, projects, partner agencies, thematic areas, geographical coverage, and relevant milestones. Additionally, they will extract key information, quotes, data, and summaries that can be utilized in the commemorative publication. The volunteers will also identify stories, experiences, or achievements that highlight the contributions of UN Volunteers to the country's development. Finally, they will organize their findings in a clear and structured manner, ensuring that the information is accessible and useful for the editorial team.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize information from various sources. Familiarity with UN Volunteer programs and development work in Bolivia or Latin America is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote setting.
Educational Background: A background in social sciences, international relations, development studies, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of volunteerism and its impact on development, particularly in the context of Bolivia.
Experience: While specific years of experience are not mandated, familiarity with research methodologies, document analysis, and experience in volunteer or development-related projects will be advantageous. Previous involvement with UN agencies or similar organizations is a plus.
Languages: Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory, as the majority of the documents and communications will be in this language. Knowledge of English or other languages relevant to the region would be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: The position is remote, allowing volunteers to work from their location. The duration of the assignment and specific time commitments will be discussed with selected candidates.
