Job Overview:
The Project Admin Clerk/Driver position is crucial for supporting the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (ARoB) in its ongoing development and peacebuilding efforts. The Project Admin Clerk/Driver will be expected to maintain the office vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition and available for use at all times. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Admin Clerk/Driver will be responsible for a variety of key functions, including:
  • Providing reliable and secure driving services for UNDP staff, experts, and visitors, ensuring safe transportation to and from various locations within the ARoB.
  • Delivering and collecting mail and documents, performing messenger duties as required, and assisting with airport meet-and-greet services for official personnel.
  • Maintaining the assigned office vehicle, including keeping accurate vehicle logs, ensuring timely maintenance, and making minor repairs as needed.
  • Ensuring that all necessary documents, supplies, and spare parts are available in the vehicle at all times, including vehicle insurance and first aid kits.
  • Taking immediate action in case of accidents, adhering to all relevant rules and regulations.
  • Performing administrative duties, including assisting with procurement, workshops, and other clerical tasks as needed to support the efficient functioning of the office and the organization.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Project Admin Clerk/Driver position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Secondary Education (12th grade completed) is required.
  • A valid class 6 Driver’s PNG driver’s license is mandatory.
  • Successful completion of recognized courses in driver safety, tactical driving, or relevant training for professional drivers is desired.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a driver with a safe driving record, preferably within a UN or international organization, is required.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and relevant office software packages (e.g., MS Word, Excel) is essential.
  • Knowledge of driving regulations, rules, and laws, along with experience in minor vehicle repair and maintenance, is necessary.
  • Experience providing day-to-day office administrative support at a clerical level is preferred.

Educational Background:
Candidates applying for the Project Admin Clerk/Driver position must have completed secondary education, specifically the 12th grade. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate possesses the necessary foundational knowledge and skills required for the role. Languages:
Fluency in English and Toki Pisin is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with UNDP staff, local stakeholders, and the community in Bougainville. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
