Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst, SRHR, based in the UNFPA field office in Taunggyi, is responsible for providing technical, operational, and coordination support for UNFPA's Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights portfolio in southern Shan State. This role involves facilitating collaboration among UN agencies, NGOs, and ethnic health organizations to ensure integrated SRHR support at both state and township levels. The Programme Analyst will contribute to the formulation and design of the country programme and its component projects, ensuring alignment with national and local priorities while adhering to UNFPA policies and procedures. The position requires a deep understanding of the political, social, and economic contexts affecting population and development, as well as the ability to analyze trends and identify opportunities for UNFPA interventions. The Analyst will also monitor programme results, oversee implementation, and enhance organizational systems to improve efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Analyst, SRHR will perform various functions, including: 1) Collaborating with partners to design and formulate the country programme and its projects in line with national priorities; 2) Ensuring quality programme/project design by incorporating lessons learned and best practices; 3) Analyzing the political, social, and economic environment relevant to population and development; 4) Keeping abreast of new policy developments and preparing briefs for policy dialogue; 5) Coordinating project implementation and establishing collaborative relationships with executing agencies and government counterparts; 6) Documenting knowledge about population development trends and sharing insights for future strategies; 7) Assisting in advocacy and resource mobilization efforts by preparing relevant documentation; 8) Providing technical advice and capacity development in SRHR; 9) Coordinating and representing UNFPA in local health-related platforms; 10) Performing any other tasks assigned by UNFPA.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in health, medical studies, population, demography, or a related social science field. They should have a minimum of two years of professional experience in SRHR activities, preferably in programme/project management. Proven working experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights is essential, along with knowledge of family planning and contraceptive technologies. Familiarity with conflict sensitivity and a 'do no harm' approach is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in health, medical studies, population, demography, or other related social science fields is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of sexual and reproductive health and rights, as well as the socio-economic factors that influence these areas.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of professional experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights, with a preference for candidates who have experience in programme or project management. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in SRHR activities and possess state-of-the-art knowledge on family planning and maternal health, particularly in working with vulnerable communities.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written English and Myanmar is essential for this role. Candidates must be able to write clearly and concisely in both languages. Knowledge of local languages in UNFPA target states and regions is considered an asset, enhancing communication and engagement with local communities.
