Job Overview:
In this role, you will be part of the CMS Experiment Physics Performance and Datasets (PPD) project Technical Support Team, where you will gain exposure to advanced data operations, large-scale service availability, and complex workflows. This position offers a strong experience in DevOps practices at the frontier of science and technology. You will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and improving multiple tools to ensure high service availability during data taking, monitoring, and analysis. You will work closely with CMS scientists of varying technical backgrounds to support operations, assist with development, and help define new feature requirements. Collaboration with software, database, and IT experts will be essential to integrate tools sustainably with community support. Additionally, you will develop, deploy, and maintain services for a large community of users, contributing to the production process from technical design to user support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibilities will include operating and maintaining various tools to ensure high service availability during data operations. You will monitor and analyze data, working closely with CMS scientists to support their operations and assist in development efforts. You will also help define new feature requirements based on user feedback and operational needs. Collaboration with software, database, and IT experts will be crucial for integrating tools sustainably, ensuring they are well-supported by the community. Furthermore, you will be tasked with developing, deploying, and maintaining services that cater to a large user community, contributing to the entire production process from technical design to user support.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you must have programming experience, particularly in Python and C++. You should also have experience with database management and operation, as well as software management, continuous integration, and deployment. Proficiency in Oracle Database is required, and while knowledge of Machine Learning and High Energy Physics is considered a plus, it is not mandatory. Strong team collaboration skills and effective communication skills in a professional setting are essential. You must be fluent in spoken and written English and demonstrate a commitment to learning French.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. It is important to note that applicants without a university degree are not eligible for this position, nor are those who hold a PhD. By the application deadline, candidates should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation.
