Job Overview: The Social Policy Professional will provide specialized programme and administrative support to facilitate the development, implementation, and monitoring of UNICEF's programmes. This role involves significant engagement in data analysis, budget tracking, reporting, and coordination with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery and compliance with organizational rules. The incumbent will exercise judgment, anticipate needs, and recommend actions that contribute to programme planning, implementation, and reporting results. The position is crucial in advocating for adequate public and private resources towards social sectors necessary for meeting children's immediate needs and unleashing their full potential.
Duties and Responsibilities: The key expected results for this position include project management and implementing partnership coordination, data management, analysis and reporting, grant management, budget monitoring and reporting, digital innovation and operational efficiency, communication, knowledge sharing, and stakeholder engagement dissemination. The role also involves capacity building and event coordination, as well as providing flexibility and surge support as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of six years of administrative or clerical work experience, with prior experience in programme support functions being essential. Relevant experience in a UN system agency or international organizations is considered an asset. Technical skills in project management, collaboration, problem-solving, and digital dexterity are required to succeed in this role.
Educational Background: Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the work of the organization. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of the role and to effectively contribute to UNICEF's mission.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of six years of relevant experience in administrative or clerical work, with a strong emphasis on programme support functions. Experience within a UN agency or international organization is highly valued and considered an asset, as it provides familiarity with the operational dynamics and expectations of the role.
Languages: Fluency in English (both verbal and written) is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Kinyarwanda or another UN language, particularly French, is considered an asset and may enhance communication and collaboration within the organization and with stakeholders.
