Job Overview:
The MHPSS Psychosocial Worker will play a crucial role in addressing the mental health and psychosocial support needs arising from the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. This position is part of the Psychosocial Mobile Team (PMT) and involves providing social support, conducting training sessions, and organizing community-based activities aimed at enhancing the psychosocial well-being of affected populations. The worker will collaborate with various stakeholders to integrate mental health considerations into community activities, ensuring that services are accessible to vulnerable groups. The role requires a proactive approach to community engagement and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the population in response to the crisis. The MHPSS Psychosocial Worker will also be responsible for data collection and reporting, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the MHPSS program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Senior MHPSS Associate and team members to integrate mental health and psychosocial support into community activities.
• Conduct training sessions on Psychological First Aid (PFA), stress management, team building, conflict management, and communication skills.
• Support the strengthening of social networks and organize support groups and participatory cultural initiatives.
• Provide individual and group counseling to affected individuals as needed.
• Develop and disseminate awareness messages and psychoeducation sessions related to mental health.
• Assist in conducting MHPSS needs assessments and data collection surveys.
• Manage partnerships with local implementing partners to coordinate community-based activities.
• Implement MHPSS components of integrated programs supporting veterans and their families.
• Undertake travel across Ukraine as required, particularly in emergency situations. 1
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of activities in coordination with the Senior MHPSS Associate.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counselling, Educational Psychology, Psychotherapy, Social Sciences, Social Work, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in mental health, social protection, or community-based work is required. Previous experience in humanitarian interventions and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations are essential. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the values of inclusion, integrity, and professionalism as outlined by IOM.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Psychology, Counselling, Educational Psychology, Psychotherapy, Social Sciences, or Social Work. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of mental health and psychosocial support in a humanitarian context.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 2 years of professional experience in mental health and psychosocial support, community-based work, or related humanitarian interventions. Experience in working with diverse populations and in crisis situations will be highly valued. A track record of innovative approaches and local initiatives will be considered a strong asset.

Languages:
Fluency in Ukrainian is mandatory for this position, as it is essential for effective communication with the affected population. A working knowledge of English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate collaboration with international teams and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The position may require frequent travel within Ukraine, particularly in response to emergencies. The consultant will be expected to work full-time and may need to adapt to varying schedules based on the needs of the program. IOM offers coverage against occupational accidents and illnesses but does not provide medical insurance for non-occupational issues. Candidates must provide proof of their own medical insurance before commencing work.
