Job Overview:
The Assistant Creative Content Officer will play a crucial role in organizing and coordinating content production for the Private Sector Partnership (PSP) team in the MENA region. This position requires a blend of creative vision, project management, and language skills to produce high-quality content that engages diverse audiences, including the general public, digital influencers, media partners, and high-net-worth individuals. The incumbent will be responsible for drafting and reviewing content in both English and Arabic, ensuring that all materials align with UNHCR's branding and messaging guidelines. The role demands constant communication with various stakeholders, including the PSP team, field operations, and the Global PSP team, to ensure timely delivery of content for major campaigns. The Assistant Creative Content Officer will also need to identify opportunities for leveraging current events and trends to enhance UNHCR's visibility and fundraising efforts, while adhering to ethical guidelines and maintaining the organization's reputation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the PSP Campaigns Officer, the Assistant Creative Content Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Creative Ideation: Develop and create compelling content for campaigns and fundraising platforms.
  • Coordination: Manage creative content requests between various teams and the creative staff, including designers and copywriters.
  • Copywriting: Draft English and Arabic copy for a variety of communications materials.
  • Content Collection: Transcribe and filter raw stories and interviews for use in campaigns.
  • Digital Strategy: Support the digital team in achieving fundraising goals through effective content strategies.
  • Content Briefs: Write and coordinate briefs for content collection missions and interviews.
  • Editing: Assist in writing, editing, and proofreading content to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Project Management: Create timelines and manage multiple creative projects from inception to completion.
  • Brainstorming: Facilitate brainstorming sessions to generate ideas and concepts for campaigns. 1
  • Liaison: Coordinate with UNHCR operations and external agencies for content gathering and production. 1
  • Data Analysis: Use data analysis to drive content opportunities and themes. 1
  • Performance Assessment: Work with fundraising and digital teams to evaluate content performance and make necessary adjustments. 1

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Assistant Creative Content Officer position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, International Relations, Fundraising, Advertising, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in a creative or marketing role, with no experience required if holding a Master’s degree. Significant experience in fundraising, external relations, or communications is preferred.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in both English and Arabic, with experience in drafting and reviewing communications in both languages.
  • Content Creation: Experience in content creation and video production is essential.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience working with multiple stakeholders is a plus.
  • Humanitarian Experience: Previous experience in the humanitarian field is advantageous.
  • Multi-channel Experience: Familiarity with digital/web, social media, and video content is required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, Communications, International Relations, Fundraising, Advertising, or Journalism. Equivalent work experience may also be considered in lieu of formal education. A Master’s degree may substitute for the required experience, allowing candidates to apply without prior work experience.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in a creative or marketing role, particularly in a fundraising context. Candidates with a Master’s degree may apply without prior experience. Significant experience in external relations, communications, and content creation is highly desirable, along with familiarity in working within the humanitarian sector.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, with strong writing and editing skills in both languages. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
