Job Overview:
The Deputy Chief, Policy Coordination and Resource Mobilization will play a crucial role in supporting intergovernmental bodies by providing substantive support on development issues. This includes offering strategic advice, technical guidance, and assisting in the development of consensus among member states. The position also involves managing the work unit's contributions to meetings of intergovernmental bodies and representing the organization at various international, regional, and national meetings. Additionally, the Deputy Chief will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with senior officials of member governments, negotiating technical assistance programs, and promoting international cooperation initiatives. The role requires a strong focus on mobilizing financial and technical resources to support the Caribbean Headquarters' mandate and strengthen institutional capacities. Duties and Responsibilities:

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in economics, development studies, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Successful completion of degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics, or data science is desirable.

Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in economic research and analysis, policy formulation, and the application of economic principles in development programs. Additionally, at least seven years of experience in international cooperation, sustainable development, or public policy is required. Candidates should also have a minimum of seven years of demonstrated experience in resource mobilization and managing cooperation portfolios with bilateral and multilateral donors. Experience in coordinating or leading international conferences, policy forums, or inter-agency processes is desirable, as is experience in data analytics or related areas.

Languages:
English and Spanish are required for this position, as they are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Candidates should have a minimum required level of proficiency in these languages according to the UN Language Framework. Knowledge of French is also beneficial but not mandatory.
