Job Overview:
The position focuses on communication and visibility within the framework of IOM's projects in Honduras. The selected candidate will be responsible for recording and editing institutional and promotional videos, as well as documenting the life stories of beneficiaries involved in various projects. The role also includes supporting the graphic design of visibility materials and assisting in the coverage of communication activities conducted by IOM in San Pedro Sula and the northern region of Honduras. The candidate will be expected to write, develop, edit, and disseminate public information regarding IOM's activities in Honduras, which will be utilized for press releases, websites, and social media platforms. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the execution of communication and visibility campaigns for different IOM projects and programs, as well as facilitating internal and organizational communication with counterparts and media outlets. The candidate should proactively identify and creatively implement new communication actions and tools that align with IOM's communication objectives in Honduras, producing a steady flow of content in the form of human interest stories, photographs, and video clips for both national and international audiences. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Record and edit institutional and promotional videos, including beneficiary life stories related to IOM projects.
  • Support the graphic design of visibility materials for various projects.
  • Assist in covering communication activities of IOM in San Pedro Sula and the northern region of Honduras.
  • Write, develop, edit, and disseminate public information about IOM's activities in Honduras for press releases, websites, and social media.
  • Assist in executing communication and visibility campaigns for different IOM projects and programs.
  • Facilitate internal and organizational communication with counterparts and media.
  • Proactively identify and creatively implement new communication actions and tools that align with IOM's communication objectives.
  • Produce a consistent flow of content, including human interest stories, photographs, and video clips for national and international audiences.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in graphic design, communications, public relations, or journalism.
  • Experience in photography.
  • Experience in social media management.
  • Experience in organizing and managing events.
  • Experience in developing and implementing communication campaigns.
  • Experience working with international cooperation and humanitarian organizations is an advantage.

Educational Background:
A degree in communications, graphic design, journalism, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications in graphic design or communications may also be beneficial.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in fields such as graphic design, communications, public relations, or journalism. Experience in photography, social media management, event organization, and communication campaign development is essential. Familiarity with international cooperation and humanitarian organizations will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Honduras. Proficiency in English is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with international stakeholders and enhance the candidate's ability to produce content for a broader audience.
