Job Overview:
The Consultant for the Demand Hub will play a crucial role in facilitating the efficient functioning of the Vaccination Demand Hub, which aims to enhance vaccine confidence and uptake. This position involves coordinating various activities, including organizing Hub calls, convening meetings, and producing documentation of agreed actions. The consultant will work closely with the UNICEF immunization team and the Demand Hub Steering Committee to ensure effective partnerships and communication among stakeholders engaged in immunization demand work. The role requires a proactive approach to managing multiple tasks, including the organization of technical clinics, capacity-building sessions, and knowledge-sharing webinars. The consultant will also be responsible for updating the Hub's website and knowledge management platform, ensuring that stakeholders have easy access to guidance and tools related to vaccine demand. Overall, the consultant will contribute to the strategic direction and operational success of the Demand Hub, supporting UNICEF's mission to improve immunization coverage globally.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties and responsibilities include:
  • Convening meetings of the Demand Hub Steering Committee and expanded partners, ensuring at least 10 meetings are held with succinct minutes produced.
  • Organizing monthly meetings of the Hub and facilitating face-to-face meetings of the Demand Hub leadership team.
  • Documenting agreed action points and following up with responsible parties.
  • Developing agendas and sharing them in advance with steering committee members for input.
  • Coordinating logistics for face-to-face meetings, including venue arrangements and participant invitations.
  • Facilitating technical clinics and capacity-building training sessions, ensuring all materials are prepared on time.
  • Developing and updating the Demand Hub workplan and calendar of events, monitoring progress and deliverables.
  • Providing content for the Hub's website and knowledge management platform, including updates on activities and resources.
  • Producing newsletters and short updates on Hub activities to share with stakeholders. 1
  • Ensuring effective communication and collaboration among all partners involved in immunization demand work.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
  • Proven track record in program management and coordination of complex multi-stakeholder partnerships for at least one year.
  • A minimum of two years of solid experience in coordinating global mechanisms, preferably in health and social behavior change (SBC) programming.
  • Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in producing knowledge products and documentation.
  • Familiarity with UN systems and partners is an asset.
  • Self-starter with the ability to plan and execute projects in a timely manner, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge about the Vaccination Demand Hub and its functions is an asset.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have an advanced university degree in Social Science or any interdisciplinary area relevant to the position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of immunization demand and the various stakeholders involved in the process.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in coordinating global initiatives, particularly in health-related programming. Candidates should have a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Experience in the UN system or similar organizations is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within UNICEF and the Demand Hub. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to the regions where UNICEF operates, is considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's profile.

  • The consultant will be required to travel for specific meetings, with travel costs and daily subsistence allowances covered by UNICEF. Selected candidates will undergo rigorous reference and background checks, including verification of academic credentials and employment history.
