The Online Volunteer position is designed for individuals who are passionate about disability inclusion and have a keen interest in research and data analysis. The primary function of this role is to support UNDP in mapping its initiatives related to disability inclusion across various Country Offices. This involves researching and collecting data on relevant projects and activities, analyzing the information to identify thematic focus areas, and summarizing key findings. The volunteer will work closely with the Governance Team at UNDP, gaining insights into their efforts to promote inclusive governance and the importance of ensuring that persons with disabilities are actively involved in public life and decision-making processes. This role not only contributes to UNDP's mission but also provides an opportunity for personal and professional growth in the field of international development and disability rights.

  • Collaborate with the Governance Team to share findings and contribute to discussions on enhancing disability inclusion in governance practices.
  • Maintain clear and organized records of research activities and findings for future reference.
  • Participate in virtual meetings and discussions with the team to provide updates and receive feedback on the research process.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in research or volunteer work related to social inclusion or governance is an advantage.

Educational Background:
A background in social sciences, international development, public policy, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant coursework or training in disability studies or inclusive governance will be particularly well-suited for this role.

Experience:
While prior experience in a similar role is beneficial, it is not mandatory. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a willingness to learn and engage with the subject matter. Experience in volunteer work or internships related to governance, social inclusion, or disability rights will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those spoken in regions where UNDP operates, is considered a plus and may enhance the candidate's ability to conduct research effectively.

Additional Notes:
This is a remote volunteer position, allowing for flexible working hours. This role is suitable for individuals seeking to gain experience in international development and contribute to meaningful social change.
