Job Overview: The Graphic DesignVolunteer position at Southern Africa Embrace Foundation involves working closely with the social media team to create visually appealing graphics that will be used across the organization's social media platforms. The role requires the volunteer to produce six graphics per week, which may include flyers, posters, brochures, and banners that effectively communicate the foundation's mission and initiatives. The selected volunteer will be responsible for revising graphics based on feedback from the social media team lead and ensuring that all designs align with the organization's branding and messaging. Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the social media team to understand the design needs and objectives for various campaigns.
Create six graphics per week, including but not limited to flyers, posters, brochures, and banners.
Revise and edit graphics based on feedback from the social media team lead to ensure quality and alignment with the organization's goals.
Attend weekly team meetings held on Wednesdays at 10 am EST to discuss progress, share ideas, and receive guidance.
Utilize content provided by the social media team to create engaging and informative graphics.
Ensure all designs are completed and submitted on time to meet the posting schedule on social media platforms.
Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
Ability to create visually appealing and effective graphics that communicate messages clearly.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with the social media team.
Attention to detail and ability to incorporate feedback into design revisions.
A portfolio showcasing previous graphic design work is preferred but not mandatory.
Educational Background: A background in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field is preferred. However, individuals with relevant experience and a strong portfolio may also be considered regardless of formal education.
Experience: Previous experience in graphic design, whether through internships, volunteer work, or freelance projects, is beneficial. Familiarity with social media platforms and their design requirements is a plus.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, as all communications and content will be in English. Knowledge of additional languages spoken in Southern Africa may be considered an asset but is not required.
