Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the intern include: 1) Reviewing literature on financing education in Africa, with a focus on free education initiatives. 2) Finalizing the Draft Free Education Report for Namibia, ensuring it is comprehensive and aligns with UNICEF's goals. 3) Drafting a policy brief on Free Education in Namibia intended for Parliament, which will outline the implications of free education on access, equity, and quality. 4) Creating a PowerPoint presentation based on the Free Education Report to facilitate discussions with the Hon. Minister of MEIYSAC and other stakeholders. These tasks are crucial for UNICEF's advocacy efforts and will contribute to the broader mission of improving educational outcomes for marginalized communities in Namibia.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, candidates must meet several criteria: 1) Recent graduates in fields such as economics, education, public policy, statistics, finance, or education financing. 2) Strong academic performance, as evidenced by recent university records. 3) No immediate relatives working in any UNICEF office or in the line of authority. 4) Age between 18-35 years. 5) Excellent interpersonal, writing, communication, and analytical skills. 6) Experience in education budget analysis is advantageous. 7) A demonstrated interest in and understanding of Namibia's education system. 8) Proficiency in creating PowerPoint presentations and a good command of statistics are additional assets.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have recently completed their tertiary education in relevant fields such as economics, education, public policy, statistics, finance, or related areas. Strong academic records are essential to demonstrate the candidate's capability and readiness for the internship role.

Experience:
While specific work experience is not mandatory, any experience related to education budget analysis or familiarity with Namibia's education system will be considered an asset.
