Duties and Responsibilities:
The Employment and RCA Specialist has a comprehensive set of responsibilities that include conducting employability assessments and providing program orientation to clients eligible for employment services. They will develop tailored employment plans and budget strategies for each employable adult, offer job readiness coaching, and connect clients with job opportunities. Building and maintaining long-term relationships with local employers and staffing agencies is essential for identifying suitable employment opportunities. The specialist will assist clients and employers with post-placement issues and monitor client job performance and wage levels. They are required to document each client interaction according to program requirements and input client information into the database for tracking and reporting purposes. Collaboration with coworkers and partner organizations is vital, as is maintaining relationships with area service providers to benefit clients. The specialist may also train and lead support staff, volunteers, and interns as needed. In terms of RCA responsibilities, the specialist will conduct comprehensive assessments of eligibility for families seeking to participate in the RCA program, hold monthly meetings with enrolled families to confirm eligibility, and maintain detailed case notes and documentation. They will coordinate with other direct service staff to ensure accurate case status updates and be the primary point of contact with funders regarding policy application to unique circumstances. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Employment and RCA Specialist position should possess a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field of study, although relevant professional experience in the workforce development field is also highly valued. A minimum of 2 years of experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations. This position is a limited-term, full-time role that will conclude on September 30, 2026, with the possibility of renewal based on funding and organizational needs. The working environment includes a combination of standard office settings, remote work, and field time within the service delivery area.
