Job Overview: The position of Asistente de Comunicación G5 involves executing general administrative communication processes and, in some cases, specialized tasks that support the creation of communication content and the provision of communication services aimed at maintaining and enhancing the visibility and reputation of WFP. The role is crucial in supporting fundraising activities and ensuring effective communication strategies are implemented. The assistant will work closely with various stakeholders to develop and execute communication campaigns tailored to target audiences, ensuring that WFP's mission and activities are effectively communicated. This position requires a proactive approach to managing communication tasks and a commitment to upholding WFP's values in all communications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure coordination and provide administrative and specialized services to assist staff in developing, preparing, and executing communication campaigns for target audiences.
Supervise and coordinate materials, schedules, facilities, and authorizations, providing support for special events and projects related to video, photography, and radio.
Conduct clearly defined research and prepare reports, facilitating data that enables informed decision-making.
Monitor traditional media and social media, communicating relevant information to senior staff to inform the development and evaluation of communication activities and strategies.
Prepare content for traditional and social media platforms, ensuring consistency with institutional messages and standards.
Distribute communication guidelines for staff to reference when creating content.
Manage and maintain records and databases, such as journalist and media contact lists, ensuring information is accurate, organized, and easily accessible.
Respond to a variety of inquiries and support requests, applying standardized processes and obtaining necessary guidance to ensure timely and accurate resolution of all queries.
Act as a liaison between WFP staff and media to harmonize activities and contribute to the effectiveness of communication approaches within WFP. 1
Draft and edit communication content (press releases, articles, newsletters, beneficiary stories, videos) under the supervision of the unit head. 1
Provide logistical and operational support in organizing events such as press conferences, project launches, and institutional fairs. 1
Assist in collecting graphic and audiovisual inputs in the field, including photography, video, and interviews with beneficiaries, staff, or partners, following ethical and visibility guidelines of WFP.
Required Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include completion of pre-university education. A certificate of additional education, preferably in Journalism or Social Communication, is valued. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with communication tools and platforms is essential, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Candidates should also exhibit a commitment to WFP's mission and values, demonstrating integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
Educational Background: Candidates are required to have completed their pre-university education.
