The incumbent will work under the supervision of a Professional or Senior General Service staff member, receiving guidance and support while performing their duties. The Data Management Assistant will be responsible for entering data into the computer database, preparing reports, and assisting in data collection and analysis. Educational Background:
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent for the G4 level position. A Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred, particularly in fields related to information technology or data management. Relevant certifications in electronic data processing and information technology are also essential for this role.
Experience:
The position requires at least 1 year of relevant experience in electronic data processing, information technology, or a related field. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage and process data effectively, as well as their familiarity with the tools and technologies used in data management.
Languages:
For this position, knowledge of English is mandatory, along with the UN working language of the duty station if it is not English. For national professional jobs, knowledge of the local language is also required. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Management Assistant will have a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Entering data related to asylum seekers, refugees, and persons of concern into the UNHCR database.
- Contributing to the preparation of reports and project documents by providing necessary information, preparing tables, and drafting routine correspondence.
- Updating and maintaining existing databases and generating various statistical reports as needed.
- Assisting in the development of forms for data collection and analysis when requested.
- Acting as an interpreter in the exchange of routine information and translating documents and correspondence as required.
- Undertaking field trips to project sites as necessary.
- Making decisions regarding data recorded in the database and resolving incidents or escalating issues to the supervisor when necessary.
- Supporting the identification and management of risks and seeking opportunities that impact objectives in the area of responsibility.
- Performing other related duties as required by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the Data Management Assistant position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in electronic data processing, information technology, or a related field.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
