Job Overview:
The Renewable Energy Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing the technical implementation and administrative aspects of renewable energy projects at the Siblin Training Center (STC). This role involves acting as the focal point for renewable energy initiatives, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, and enhancing the curriculum to meet industry standards. The coordinator will support capacity-building programs for instructors, conduct labor market assessments, and develop outreach plans to increase participation from underrepresented groups. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure effective program implementation and monitoring.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Act as the SMART renewable energy focal point within STC, ensuring alignment with institutional and programmatic goals.
  • Support the development and continuous enhancement of renewable energy curricula, ensuring alignment with industry standards, emerging technologies, and labor market demands.
  • Support STC management to ensure proper capacity-building programs for instructors, identifying training needs and coordinating professional development activities to enhance their expertise in renewable energy.
  • Identify adequate learning resources, including technology, supplies, and equipment, to support effective teaching and hands-on training.
  • Support conducting labor market assessments to identify employment opportunities, challenges, and skill gaps in the renewable energy sector, ensuring curricula and training programs are demand-driven.
  • Support the senior instructor in developing and implementing an outreach plan for the renewable energy course, ensuring increased participation of females and other underrepresented groups.
  • Liaise with STC Management and relevant stakeholders for proper planning, implementation, and monitoring of SMART project requirements, ensuring effective coordination across all program components.
  • Engage with Senior Instructors and Instructors to ensure the seamless integration of renewable energy components within STC’s vocational courses.
  • Coordinate student admission and enrollment efforts, including outreach events, information sessions, and application processes, to attract a diverse pool of applicants. 1
  • Support and facilitate coaching sessions for instructors and students, providing technical guidance and professional development support where needed. 1
  • Monitor and evaluate program goals and objectives, preparing reports for donors, program assessment, and continuous improvement. 1
  • Support the organization of the Graduation Ceremony for renewable-energy graduates, fostering connections with potential employers and industry representatives. 1
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, ensuring the effective implementation and sustainability of the renewable energy program.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering (with a focus on Renewable Energy), Energy and Environmental Engineering, or related fields. A Master's degree is considered a plus. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and experience in delivering capacity-building programs. Previous experience in project coordination and related administrative roles is essential, along with familiarity with academic policies and accreditation standards.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Renewable Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Energy and Environmental Engineering. A Master's degree is advantageous and may enhance a candidate's profile, particularly if they have academic or personal coaching experience.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the renewable energy sector. This experience should include project coordination and administrative roles, as well as familiarity with capacity-building initiatives. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of the renewable energy landscape and possess the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in both spoken and written English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy fee for this position is set at 15,184.35 USD, which will be disbursed in monthly installments upon completion of assignments, including indemnities of 8.33%. The contract duration is for 9 months, starting from July 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability of funds. The duty station will be at the UNRWA-Siblin Training Center in Siblin, Saida, with frequent travel to the north campus. It is important to note that the United Nations does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process.
