Job Overview: The E T Consultant position is situated within the Information Technology sector of the World Bank, specifically under the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU). This unit plays a crucial role in enabling the World Bank Group to fulfill its mission of eradicating extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff across over 150 locations. The ITS Risk Management and Analytics (ITSRA) unit, where this role is based, is responsible for managing key risk functions and ensuring the integrity of the World Bank Group's AAA rating and reputation. The consultant will work on the Murex platform, which is integral for funding management and liquidity solutions, and will be involved in various projects aimed at enhancing system performance and meeting user demands. The role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, enhancement, and development of functional and technical interfaces, as well as automation of processes within the scope of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD).
Duties and Responsibilities: The E T Consultant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: maintaining and enhancing the MX Functional and Technical Interfaces; maintaining and enhancing the Murex Datamart layer; prototyping and developing DevOps pipelines in Azure DevOps (ADO); automating various tasks related to CICD ADO automation; designing, developing, coding, reviewing, and testing applications in accordance with Agile principles; assisting in integration testing and user acceptance testing; performing code optimization while adhering to the bank's coding standards; and assisting in the documentation and creation of artifacts necessary for Enterprise Architecture/Operational Information Systems clearance.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The role requires expert knowledge of Murex connectivity and interfaces, as well as experience with Murex Datamart. Additionally, candidates should have advanced knowledge of financial instruments, particularly fixed income and rates derivatives, and experience with DevOps practices, especially in Azure DevOps. A strong understanding of object-oriented technology and standard Java development frameworks is essential, along with advanced knowledge of Oracle 12c SQL and PL/SQL procedures. Candidates should also have extensive experience in the software development life cycle and familiarity with analysis and design using UML and case complete.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, along with substantial professional experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in a similar field combined with significant relevant experience is acceptable. The emphasis is on a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical application within the technology and financial sectors.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience for candidates with a Master’s degree, or at least 7 years for those with a Bachelor’s degree. This experience should encompass a comprehensive understanding of Murex systems, financial instruments, and software development practices. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of working in complex environments and managing multiple projects simultaneously, showcasing their ability to deliver results under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
