Job Overview:
The position of Individual Contractor for Financing for Development is crucial for the evaluation of the Tenth Five-Year Development Plan (2021-2025) in Oman, which is aligned with Oman Vision 204
  • The contractor will be responsible for providing an integrated evaluation of the plan's implementation, focusing on its impact on national priorities. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the plan's objectives, financing mechanisms, and the ability to analyze data related to economic indicators and sustainable development goals (SDGs). The contractor will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that the evaluation is thorough and provides actionable recommendations for future planning and financing strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Individual Contractor will have a range of responsibilities, including gathering and compiling information related to the SDGs and economic indicators relevant to Oman’s national priorities. They will extract and analyze data from national sources and databases, assess financing flows, and evaluate the progress of national indicators over the specified period. The contractor will also provide econometric assistance, focusing on investment opportunities within the Omani economy, and will be responsible for maintaining computerized databases to ensure data integrity. Additionally, they will prepare reports and presentations based on their analyses and collaborate with team members in the Financing for Development unit.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of two years of professional experience in research, data extraction, or statistical analysis is required, along with at least one year of experience in econometric modeling. Proficiency in statistical software is essential, and candidates should have a solid understanding of econometrics and various econometric models. Knowledge of time series models and panel data models is desirable, indicating a strong analytical capability.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a closely related field. Candidates must submit proof of their educational qualifications, as incomplete applications will not be considered. This educational foundation is critical for understanding complex economic concepts and conducting thorough analyses.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of professional work experience in relevant fields such as research, data extraction, or statistical analysis.
