Job Overview:
The Short-term Health, Safety and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security (HSS) Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the General Services function at GCF headquarters in Songdo, South Korea. This position is designed to provide temporary technical and operational support during a period of staff absence, focusing primarily on travel health, safety, and security, as well as premises security and emergency preparedness. The consultant will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of GCF personnel during official travel and at GCF premises. The role requires an onsite presence and may involve coordination with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with GCF policies and procedures. The consultant is expected to commence their engagement on September 17, 2026, and will work under the guidance of the Manager, General Services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Short-term Health, Safety and Security (HSS) Consultant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: providing ongoing technical advice and operational support for the health, safety, and security of official GCF travel; monitoring medical, safety, and security developments affecting official travel; supporting the implementation of GCF travel HSS requirements; providing pre-travel HSS guidance and briefings; responding to traveler inquiries; providing technical support during safety, security, medical, or emergency incidents; reviewing and supporting security arrangements at GCF premises; conducting targeted security risk assessments; coordinating with building management and security providers; maintaining and updating HSS trackers and records; communicating and collaborating with GCF staff on HSS matters; and ensuring a structured handover at the end of the engagement.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Emergency Management, Social Sciences, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree, provided the candidate has relevant professional experience. Additionally, candidates should have at least four years of relevant professional experience with an advanced degree or six years with a bachelor’s degree in health, safety, security, risk management, or a closely related field, preferably within an international organization or comparable environment. Practical experience in travel risk management and security risk assessment is essential, along with experience in physical security and emergency management.

Educational Background:
The position requires an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Security Management, Risk Management, Emergency Management, or Social Sciences. A bachelor’s degree may be accepted if accompanied by sufficient relevant professional experience. Candidates should have a strong academic background that supports their ability to perform the duties associated with health, safety, and security management.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience if they hold an advanced university degree, or six years if they possess a bachelor’s degree. Experience in health, safety, security, risk management, or a closely related field is crucial, particularly in contexts involving international organizations or financial institutions. Practical experience in travel risk management and emergency preparedness is highly desirable, as is experience in physical security and crisis management.

Languages:
Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively conveying information and coordinating with various stakeholders. While English proficiency is required, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an advantage, particularly in a multicultural environment.
