Job Overview:
The SRH Officer will work under the direct supervision of the NWS BHA Project Manager and receive technical support from the Health and Nutrition Specialist and Protection Coordinator. This role is crucial for providing technical supervision, mentoring, and support to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) teams, which include gynecologists, midwives, and general practitioners, in RI-supported health facilities and Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS) or one-stop centers in Northwest Syria (NWS). The officer will identify technical capacity gaps among health and protection staff in delivering SRH services and will design and implement capacity-building plans in collaboration with health and protection coordinators. The position emphasizes the importance of quality service delivery in line with international standards, ensuring effective referral mechanisms between health facilities and protection service centers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The SRH Officer will be responsible for familiarizing themselves with international and Syria-specific SRH service protocols, guidelines, and standards. They will conduct regular capacity-building assessments of SRH staff in health facilities and WGSS/One Stop centers to identify gaps and design appropriate capacity-building plans. This includes mentoring, on-the-job training, in-service training, and providing reading materials. The officer will also conduct SRH service audits to evaluate quality and implementation issues, ensuring that staff adhere to established protocols. They will advocate for the readiness of health facilities to provide quality SGBV clinical care services, ensuring the presence of trained focal persons and adequate resources. The officer will maintain clear communication regarding referral pathways between health and protection services, conduct joint sessions with the GBV team, and submit regular reports to management detailing identified gaps and progress. Additionally, they will contribute to thematic reports for internal improvement and advocacy purposes, analyze data, and track performance against SRH service indicators.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree as a Medical Doctor from a recognized institution, with specialization as a Gynecologist or Obstetrician being an added advantage. A minimum of 5 years of experience in providing SRH and SGBV services in health centers or hospitals is required, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Extensive experience in supervision, capacity building, and training facilitation is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to validate and interpret health data, particularly reproductive health data, and possess strong communication and training facilitation skills. A solid background in planning, organizing, and conducting trainings is necessary, along with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. The ability to work under pressure in a high-security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security environment is crucial, as are computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of English is considered an important asset.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree as a Medical Doctor from a recognized institution. Specialization in Gynecology or Obstetrics, or additional training in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), is highly desirable and will enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of experience in providing Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) services within health centers or hospitals. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity, demonstrating their ability to lead teams and manage health service delivery effectively.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is considered a significant asset for this position. While English is mandatory, knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial, particularly in the context of working with diverse communities in Syria.
