Duties and Responsibilities: The Local Security Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the safety and security of UNFPA personnel and operations. Key responsibilities include monitoring the local security situation and gathering information on developments that may impact UNFPA activities. The incumbent will assist in compiling security information and preparing periodic updates and incident reports for internal awareness. They will implement security procedures and risk mitigation measures in line with UN security guidance, support security arrangements for staff movements and field missions, and maintain liaison with UNDSS and local authorities. Additionally, the Local Security Associate will assist in organizing security briefings for new staff, maintain security documentation, and support emergency preparedness activities, including evacuation procedures and emergency contact lists.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess completed Secondary Level Education. A minimum of three years of relevant work experience in security support roles is required. Proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with radio communication systems and security communication equipment is desirable. The position demands a strong commitment to the values of integrity, accountability, and professionalism, as well as the ability to work effectively in teams and manage relationships with various stakeholders.
Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position is the completion of Secondary Level Education. This foundational education is essential for understanding the responsibilities and tasks associated with security management in a complex environment.
