Job Overview:
The Senior Analyst for Protection in the Sudan Analysis Hub will lead the development and implementation of protection monitoring frameworks and methodologies tailored to both analysis production and technical assistance. This role requires a high level of collaboration with other Senior Analysts to ensure methodological standards and quality of analysis are maintained. The analyst will be responsible for integrating assessments and reports on Sudan's humanitarian scenario, identifying informational voids, and conceptualizing multi-sector and thematic analytical outputs. The position also involves capacity-building initiatives for staff and partners, ensuring proficiency in protection research methodologies and practices. The analyst will represent ACAPS in regional forums and maintain relationships with key informants to support analytical endeavors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of protection monitoring frameworks and information processes tailored to analysis production and technical assistance.
- Design and refine protection monitoring methodologies, ensuring alignment with Global Protection Cluster datasets standards.
- Ensure high methodological standards and quality of analysis in collaboration with other Senior Analysts.
- Continually review and integrate assessments, reports, and information products on Sudan's humanitarian scenario.
- Spearhead the conceptualization and execution of multi-sector and thematic analytical outputs, overseeing all analytical phases.
- Facilitate and mentor team members in the evolution of their analytical products.
- Oversee capacity-building initiatives for staff and partners in protection research methodologies.
- Lead the development and maintenance of Data Management structures for effective Data Processing.
- Contribute to tool development for ongoing analysis and promote Data Sharing. 1
- Ensure mechanisms to gather and analyze feedback on the impact of produced analysis. 1
- Develop and maintain a network of key interlocutors for information. 1
- Build relationships with regional and local informants and conduct interviews to support research. 1
- Represent ACAPS in relevant regional forums. 1
- Perform any other tasks as agreed upon based on project needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Humanitarian Action, social sciences, International Relations, or other relevant fields.
- A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in related sectors will be accepted.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the humanitarian or related sectors, focusing on research, analysis, and protection.
- Profound understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
- Demonstrated clarity in written communication and ability to synthesize complex information.
- Fluency in English (oral and written) is mandatory, with proficiency in additional languages being an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with analytical tools like R, Python, Tableau, and PowerBI is desirable.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a results-oriented approach. 1

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in humanitarian action, social sciences, international relations, or other relevant fields. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in related sectors will be accepted, ensuring that candidates have a solid educational foundation relevant to the humanitarian sector.
Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of professional experience in the humanitarian or related sectors, with a strong focus on research, analysis, and protection. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in designing and conducting analysis in humanitarian contexts, showcasing their ability to work effectively in challenging environments and contribute to meaningful outcomes.
Languages:
Fluency in English (oral and written) is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages is considered an advantage, as it can enhance communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders in the humanitarian sector.
Additional Notes:
This position is a national contract with a fixed term duration. The role is full-time and requires candidates to have the right to live and work in the listed Duty Stations, which include Bangladesh, Kenya, Jordan, Senegal, and Ukraine. The starting date for this position is as soon as possible (ASAP).
