Job Overview:
The Protection Information Management Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the Protection WB learning, project, and Program Management through effective Data Collection, quality control, reporting, and the development and maintenance of the Protection Information Management System (IMS). This position is essential for ensuring that protection information is accurately collected, analyzed, and reported, thereby facilitating informed decision-making and effective program implementation. The officer will be responsible for establishing standardized information flows that allow for the triangulation of protection data and trend Analysis, ensuring that the Data Management system is robust and reliable. The role also involves training NRC staff on data capture and analysis, ensuring that all personnel are equipped to handle data responsibly and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Protection Information Management Officer will have a wide range of responsibilities including:
- Supporting the development and maintenance of the Protection data management system, ensuring that it is well-documented and implemented.
- Guaranteeing the flow, storage, and archiving of data while ensuring compliance with NRC’s Data Protection standards.
- Conducting quality control and oversight of data collection processes, identifying and rectifying errors in data input.
- Providing training and support to NRC staff on effective data capture, analysis, and utilization.
- Collaborating with other units to address areas of common responsibility and enhance data management practices.
- Supporting various databases and tracking systems related to Protection Case Management, monitoring, and referrals.
- Producing high-quality qualitative and quantitative reports and alerts as required.
- Participating in project documentation for lessons learned and providing feedback to the Protection Project Manager and other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical expertise or recovery context, with a strong preference for those with experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and systems development. Previous experience in complex and volatile contexts is essential. Candidates should demonstrate fluency in both English and Arabic, with strong written and verbal communication skills. A high level of education in Information Technology, social sciences, or a related field is required. Additionally, candidates should have a solid understanding of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning principles in relief and development programs, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods. Experience with Data Entry, systematization, and analysis is also necessary.
Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have a higher education degree in information technology, social sciences, or a related field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of data management and analysis within the context of humanitarian work.
Experience:
The position requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in technical expertise or recovery contexts. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in challenging environments, demonstrating the ability to adapt and respond to evolving situations effectively. Experience in monitoring and evaluation, as well as data management, is highly valued.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, both in written and verbal forms. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

The contract duration for this position is 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on the needs of the position, available funding, and performance evaluations.
