Job Overview:
The Program Manager, Special Projects at the American Heart Association will play a crucial role in the development and management of innovative revenue-generating products and programs. This position is responsible for overseeing the Strategic Planning, execution, and commercial success of various scientific meetings and educational content, including AHAtv, Scientific Sessions OnDemand (SSOD), and Stroke OnDemand (SOD). The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in Product Development, digital Content Management, and Program Management, ensuring a high-quality experience for participants and sponsors. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external partners to innovate and expand the Association's offerings, while also monitoring market trends to identify new revenue opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Manager will be tasked with identifying, developing, and implementing new products and programs that drive revenue growth for the Office of Science Operations. Responsibilities include collaborating with internal teams and external partners to innovate educational and event-related offerings, monitoring market trends, developing and managing budgets, overseeing the planning and delivery of revenue-generating products, managing relationships with vendors and sponsors, coordinating Marketing efforts, analyzing performance metrics, and conducting post-event analyses. The manager will also serve as the primary point of contact for special projects, providing updates to Senior Leadership and building relationships with key stakeholders to maximize revenue opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Project Management, product development, or digital content management is required, with a preference for candidates who have 5 years of experience. A proven track record of developing and managing revenue-generating programs is essential, and prior experience in events is considered a plus. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and excellent project management abilities are necessary for success in this role.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, or Communications. This foundational education is critical for understanding the complexities of project management and product development within the context of the American Heart Association's mission and goals.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in project management, product development, or digital content management. Candidates with 5 years of experience will be preferred, particularly those who have worked in non-profit or healthcare environments.
