Job Overview:
The Operational Information Manager (OIM) will be responsible for establishing an operational information strategy and tools, including specifications, tool Design, data centralization, and quality assurance. The OIM will train operational teams on the use of these tools and templates, produce maps, visualizations, and infographics for reporting and advocacy, and analyze program data to create informative products. This role supports the Consortium Coordinator in managing two consortia in Sudan, requiring close Coordination with various stakeholders including the SI Desk, Meal Coordinator, and Emergency Coordinator. The position is new, and the OIM will need to streamline and improve processes, particularly for the Emergency Response program in Darfur.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop an information management strategy aligned with SI’s policies.
- Design and maintain information systems for two consortia projects, ensuring technical quality and regular quality control of program data.
- Support Data Collection and harmonization across all bases, collaborating with MEAL PMs and program teams.
- Conduct Data Quality assessments and promote Data Protection policies.
- Identify training needs and lead technical training for teams related to information management.
- Develop interactive dashboards and support the production of maps.
- Assist with other MEAL-related tasks, including reviewing indicators and assessments.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field is required. Candidates should have experience in creating and supporting information Management Systems, as well as in developing and implementing information systems and data collection tools. Strong analytical skills to evaluate data and conduct data cleaning are essential. Good communication and interpersonal skills are also necessary, along with the ability to work under tight deadlines. Experience working in consortia is appreciated.
Educational Background:
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in a related area, with a Master’s degree being preferable. The educational background should be relevant to information management or humanitarian assistance.
Experience:
The position requires 0-2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector and 0-2 years in similar positions. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with information management systems and data Analysis.
Languages:
Fluency in written and oral English is mandatory. Proficiency in Arabic is an asset, while French is considered a definite asset.

- The salary starts from EUR 2310 gross per month, with additional monthly per diem and accommodation costs covered by SI. Expatriates will receive an insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations. Living conditions in N'Djamena are comfortable, with access to leisure facilities and a supportive expatriate community. Security constraints exist, particularly regarding travel to Sudan, which may involve administrative challenges.
