Job Overview:
The Migration Health Officer will work under the supervision of the project manager and directly with the Migration Health officer and Migration Health Assistant (Data & Reporting). The role involves supporting health activities and service delivery for the IOM BHA project, coordinating health outreaches, training Logistics, and managing patient data. The officer will ensure high standards of care and optimal delivery of quality Health Services in line with international best practices. This position requires a proactive approach to health service delivery, with responsibilities including clinical measurements, Health Education, and documentation of patient records. The officer will also participate in policy Design and formulation, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Migration Health Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: clinical measurement of vital signs and recording them in patient registers; providing gynecological and reproductive health talks during ANC Clinics; administering routine immunizations and vaccinations; triaging medical emergencies; supporting ANC services and related SRHR services; performing nursing duties for admitted patients; ensuring proper documentation of patient records; providing health education and counseling; advising patients on alternative treatments; keeping abreast of the latest medical information; facilitating clinical and non-clinical documentation; summarizing and sharing monthly reports with supervisors; participating in the design of unit policies and clinical pathways; and performing other tasks as assigned by the project manager or medical officer. The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Nursing (BSc Nursing), be a Registered Nurse (RN), Midwife, or have qualifications in Public Health or Community Health Extension Work (CHEW). A minimum of three years of relevant clinical experience is required, along with a valid license to practice in Nigeria. Candidates should demonstrate excellent technical skills, proven ability to establish strong working relationships with government counterparts and international organizations, and previous experience with UN or international humanitarian sectors is preferred. Training in areas such as ANC, CMR, GBV, SRHR, first-aid, and emergency health is advantageous. Computer literacy, particularly in MS Office, is required, along with good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, or a related field. Candidates must be registered to practice in Nigeria and hold a valid registration license in a hospital or health setting. Continuous professional development and training in relevant health areas are also beneficial.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of continuous clinical practice post-fellowship. Candidates should have relevant experience in health service delivery, particularly in primary or secondary healthcare settings. Experience working with international organizations or in humanitarian contexts is highly valued, as is familiarity with emergency health response protocols.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory. Proficiency in Hausa is also required, as it is essential for effective communication with local populations and stakeholders.
