Job Overview:
The Livelihood and Food Security Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing and implementing projects aimed at improving food security and livelihoods for vulnerable populations in Adamawa State. This position requires a proactive individual who can ensure timely reporting, effective project management, and collaboration with various stakeholders. The coordinator will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive project files, monitoring implementation against donor requirements, and providing Technical Support to project managers. The role also involves conducting context Analysis and scenario planning to inform project strategies and ensure alignment with NRC's mission and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the local context and be able to navigate complex challenges in a humanitarian setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Livelihood and Food Security Project Coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: ensuring timely submission of internal and external reports; supporting the Field Coordinator in collecting and disseminating contributions from project managers; maintaining organized project documentation; facilitating grant management meetings; monitoring the use of Grants Management tools; supporting project development and risk management; ensuring compliance with donor and NRC regulations; conducting field visits for quality assurance; preparing donor and internal reports; managing project budgets; and building partnerships with local authorities and stakeholders. The coordinator will also be involved in Capacity Building for staff and local partners, ensuring effective implementation of livelihood and food security interventions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Development studies, Rural Development, Agriculture, Livelihoods, Economics, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or 3-4 years as a Project Officer in a humanitarian or recovery context is required. Proven experience in managing Livelihoods and Food Security interventions, as well as familiarity with agriculture, livestock, aquaculture, income generation, Financial Inclusion, and value chain development, is essential. Candidates should also have experience in conducting food security assessments and working in complex environments, along with strong skills in staff and budget management.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as social sciences, Development studies, Rural Development, Agriculture, Livelihoods, or Economics. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of food security and livelihoods in humanitarian contexts and for effectively managing projects that address these issues.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Project Coordinator or 3-4 years as a Project Officer in humanitarian or recovery settings. Candidates should have a proven track record in managing Livelihoods and Food Security projects, with experience in agriculture, livestock, and income generation activities. Familiarity with cash and voucher assistance modalities and experience in conducting assessments in volatile contexts are also important. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in challenging environments is essential for success in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Excellent report writing skills are also required. Knowledge of local languages such as Hausa and Fulani is considered an asset, as it can enhance communication with local communities and stakeholders.
