Job Overview:
The Internship-position" id="link" class="link">Internship Position in the ESA Academy is designed for university students, particularly those in their final or penultimate year of study at the Master's level. The intern will be involved in various activities within the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality, specifically focusing on the ESA Academy's initiatives. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in space education and project management while working alongside experienced professionals in the field. Interns will have the chance to contribute to the development and Coordination of educational programs, support satellite projects, and engage in research activities related to CubeSat technology. This position not only enhances academic learning but also provides practical skills and networking opportunities within the space sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will have the opportunity to choose from several topics of activity, each with specific tasks. For Topic 1, the intern will support the coordination of ESA Academy Engagement activities, which includes assisting with various programs such as Student Conference Sponsorship and Short Course Scholarships. Responsibilities will involve event organization, process improvement, Database Management, and statistical Analysis. For Topic 2, the intern will conduct a preliminary study for a CubeSat shock testing facility, which includes investigating testing methodologies, reviewing equipment, identifying requirements, and designing test protocols. For Topic 3, the intern will develop an EMC experiment for ESA Academy Training, which involves understanding EMC topics, reviewing testing methodologies, and supporting the development of an EMC PCB. Overall, the intern will be expected to demonstrate competencies in result orientation, operational efficiency, cooperation, relationship management, continuous improvement, and forward thinking.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be university students, preferably in their final or second-to-last year of a Master's program. They should remain enrolled at their university for the entire duration of the internship. Additionally, candidates should possess a good knowledge of English or French, with knowledge of another language being an asset. Specific qualifications may vary depending on the chosen topic, such as knowledge of database Design for Topic 1, basic knowledge of CubeSat systems for Topic 2, and understanding of digital and analogue electronics for Topic 3.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes being a university student, ideally pursuing a Master's degree. The internship is particularly suited for students in engineering, technology, or related fields, as the tasks involve technical knowledge and practical applications in space technology and project management.

Experience:
While prior experience is not strictly required, any relevant experience in space-related projects, engineering, or technology will be considered an asset. Interns should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment. Hands-on experience with electronics or participation in university projects related to CubeSats or space technology will be beneficial.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is either English or French, with a good command of one being essential. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those of other ESA member states, is considered advantageous and may enhance the candidate's profile.

This internship is a full-time position and is open to nationals of specific ESA member states, including Austria, Belgium, Germany, and others.
