Job Overview:
The Information Management Team Leader will play a crucial role in overseeing the Data Management processes within the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of Data Collection, Analysis, and reporting, as well as the ability to develop and maintain information Management Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that data is accurately captured, stored, and analyzed to support Program Management and decision-making. The role also involves training and Capacity Building for program staff, ensuring that they are equipped to utilize information management tools effectively. The Information Management Team Leader will work closely with various departments to enhance the use of data in project reviews and strategy processes, contributing to the overall effectiveness of NRC's programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Management Team Leader will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: developing and maintaining Database Management systems and online platforms; supporting Data Analysis, reporting, and visualization efforts; conducting regular quality control of data; providing training and capacity building for program staff on information management tools; supporting the Programme Department in new initiatives; conducting surveys and assessments; ensuring compliance with NRC’s Data Protection principles; preparing infographics, reports, and dashboards; and performing any other activities as requested by the line manager. The role requires adaptability to the specific context and needs of the organization, with responsibilities being revised as necessary based on changes in personnel or operational focus.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of overall experience in data management, including the development of databases and effective use of data management tools. A university degree in Computer Science, social science, economics, statistics, or a related field is required. Additionally, candidates should have experience with monitoring and evaluation principles in relief and development contexts, particularly in managing data relevant to monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL). Strong analytical and computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and advanced Excel skills, are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to transfer knowledge through training and mentoring, as well as possess strong skills in data analysis and visualization.
Educational Background:
A university degree in a relevant field such as computer science, social science, economics, or statistics is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding data management principles and practices, as well as the analytical skills needed for effective data analysis and reporting.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of experience in data management, with a focus on developing databases, utilizing data management tools, and conducting data analysis. Candidates should have experience in monitoring and evaluation within humanitarian or development contexts, as well as a proven track record of managing data relevant to program management and decision-making. Experience in training and capacity building for diverse audiences is also essential.
Languages:
Fluency in both Portuguese and English, spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional local languages spoken in Cabo Delgado is considered a plus, as it may enhance communication and engagement with local communities.
