The Health, Safety, and Security Manager position at NRC Afghanistan is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of operations across the country. The manager will be responsible for monitoring security and risks, providing Emergency preparedness oversight, and supporting operational teams in incident management. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Health, Safety, and Security Manager will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
- Monitoring and analyzing security risks to ensure the safety of NRC operations.
- Implementing mitigation measures and conducting security briefings for staff.
- Overseeing Emergency Preparedness and providing Technical Support to operational teams.
- Managing incident response and supporting staff during crises.
- Facilitating Humanitarian Access through Capacity Building and technical support.
- Establishing departmental objectives and managing staff performance.
- Coordinating with external stakeholders to enhance security measures.
- Providing risk management support to ensure compliance with NRC standards.
- Leading training and development initiatives for the Health, Safety, and Security team.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Health, Safety, and Security Manager position must possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in security management within a humanitarian or recovery context.
- Expertise in humanitarian access Analysis and civil-military Coordination.
- Familiarity with complex and volatile environments, particularly in high-risk settings.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating leadership capabilities.
Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have a relevant educational background, typically including a degree in security management, International Relations, humanitarian studies, or a related field.
