Job Overview:
The Finance Controller position is situated within the Field Operations department at NRC's Head Office. This role is crucial for providing financial support to the department, which manages a variety of externally funded projects aimed at program development initiatives globally. The Finance Controller will be responsible for budgeting, reporting, internal control, and ensuring compliance with NRC policies and procedures. The position involves working with global projects that are implemented at various levels, including global, regional, and country offices, and requires a strong understanding of Financial Management in complex, multi-donor environments. The Finance Controller will also contribute to the development of financial procedures and tools to enhance financial management practices across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Controller will implement NRC's financial systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with the Finance handbooks and NRC policies. Key responsibilities include: supporting and monitoring compliance for global projects, providing financial advice and Technical Support to budget holders, conducting training and Capacity Development, reviewing donor project budgets, monitoring spending plans, Financial Reporting, and year-end closing. The role also involves ensuring bookkeeping assurance for external grants, overseeing Financial Aspects of corporate/private sector projects, contributing to the development of financial management tools, following up on external and project audits, and providing regular Analysis" id="link" class="link">Financial Analysis and reports as assigned by the Head of Finance.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in finance, accounting, or Business Management. Strong financial and analytical skills are essential, along with experience in managing large, complex, or multi-applicant projects that adhere to stringent donor rules. Experience in a technical finance position and familiarity with financial monitoring tools and complex project funding is highly advantageous. Documented results related to the responsibilities of the position are also required.

Educational Background:
A university degree in finance, accounting, or business management is mandatory for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding financial principles and practices relevant to the role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in finance, particularly in managing complex projects with multiple donors. Experience working in a technical finance role, especially in a humanitarian context, is highly desirable. Familiarity with NRC's operations, particularly at the country level, will be considered a significant advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial but is not explicitly required.
