Job Overview:
The IRC’s External Relations team is responsible for Marketing, Fundraising, brand stewardship, and communications to support the organization’s mission. The Mass Markets USA (MMUSA) program plays a crucial role in raising over $70 million annually in unrestricted revenue within the U.S. market. The Director of Audience and Donor Strategy will be tasked with developing and implementing strategies to maximize lifetime net revenue from key retention audiences, including mid-level donors, bridge donors, sustainers, and planned giving prospects. This position requires collaboration with global Mass Markets leaders, innovative thinking, budget oversight, and leadership of a team of fundraisers to achieve ambitious revenue growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director will lead and inspire a team of fundraisers, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture. Responsibilities include operationalizing fundraising objectives, mentoring team members, meeting an annual revenue budget exceeding $50 million, and developing a planned giving marketing program. The Director will partner with other leaders to Design audience-led strategies that enhance donor retention and engagement. They will also lead the development of a comprehensive omnichannel strategy to engage key audiences through personalized approaches, optimize revenue growth, manage annual budgeting and reforecasting, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment across fundraising initiatives. Performance Analysis will involve tracking KPIs, analyzing fundraising metrics, and developing actionable insights to improve donor journeys. The Director will also ensure compliance with regulations and uphold ethical standards in fundraising activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in fundraising, marketing, communications, or a related field, or have at least 10 years of nonprofit mass marketing fundraising experience in progressively advanced roles. Demonstrated experience managing donor audiences or fundraising channels is essential, with a preference for experience in monthly giving. At least five years of experience in staff management, focusing on team building and talent development, is required. Strong collaboration skills, a passion for fundraising, and the ability to develop strategies and business cases are also necessary.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as fundraising, marketing, communications, or liberal arts is preferred. The educational background should support the candidate's ability to engage in Strategic Planning and execution within the fundraising domain.

Experience:
The position requires at least 10 years of experience in nonprofit mass marketing fundraising, with a proven track record of progressively advanced roles. Candidates should have substantial experience managing donor audiences or fundraising channels, particularly in monthly giving, and at least five years of experience in managing staff with a focus on team development.
